**Sweet Lime Salad:**
Ingredients:
- 2 sweet limes (Mousambi)
- 1 cucumber, diced
- 1 tomato, diced
- 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
- Fresh mint leaves, chopped
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- Chaat masala (optional, for added flavor)
- Lemon juice (optional, for extra tanginess)
Instructions:
1. Peel the sweet limes and separate the segments. Remove any seeds and chop the segments into bite-sized pieces.
2. In a large bowl, combine the sweet lime pieces, diced cucumber, diced tomato, and thinly sliced red onion.
3. Season the salad with salt, black pepper, and chaat masala (if using). You can also squeeze some fresh lemon juice over the salad for extra tanginess.
4. Toss everything together until well combined.
5. Garnish the salad with freshly chopped mint leaves.
6. Serve the sweet lime salad chilled as a refreshing and nutritious side dish or snack.
**Sweet Lime Sorbet:**
Ingredients:
- 4 sweet limes (Mousambi)
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup water
- Mint leaves for garnish (optional)
Instructions:
1. Juice the sweet limes to extract about 1 cup of juice.
2. In a saucepan, combine the sugar and water. Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved to make a simple syrup.
3. Remove the simple syrup from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.
4. Once the simple syrup has cooled, combine it with the sweet lime juice in a mixing bowl.
5. Pour the sweet lime mixture into a shallow dish and place it in the freezer.
6. Every 30 minutes, use a fork to scrape and stir the mixture, breaking up any ice crystals that form. Repeat this process until the mixture is completely frozen and has a slushy consistency.
7. Once frozen, scoop the sweet lime sorbet into serving bowls or glasses.
8. Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired, and serve immediately as a refreshing dessert.
**Sweet Lime Mojito:**
Ingredients:
- 2 sweet limes (Mousambi), juiced
- 6-8 fresh mint leaves
- 2 teaspoons sugar
- Soda water
- Ice cubes
- Mint sprigs for garnish
- Optional: White rum for an alcoholic version
Instructions:
1. In a glass, muddle together the fresh mint leaves and sugar until the leaves are bruised and fragrant.
2. Add the sweet lime juice to the glass and stir to combine with the mint and sugar.
3. Fill the glass with ice cubes.
4. If making an alcoholic version, add a shot of white rum to the glass and stir.
5. Top off the glass with soda water and stir gently to mix.
6. Garnish the sweet lime mojito with a sprig of mint.
7. Serve immediately and enjoy this refreshing and citrusy beverage, perfect for a hot summer day.
